Habidatum: Data Analysis and Visualisation
Tech we like: Habidatum. Feed your own data or sample data from NYC, London or Moscow into their Chronotope software for data aggregation, visualisation and interpretation. Register here for a trial or get in touch if you want to know more. Habidatum help policymakers and firms to understand the dynamic urban environment through big data. Projects include “Rio Semantic Landscapes”, “NYC Time Economy”, “Easy Access: India” and “Beats of Culture (Denver)”. If this sounds too abstract, have a look at their video below (in collaboration with Intel). This shows the communities’ diversity in various areas of Dubai: social groups are defined by discussion topics and activity patterns (visited places, time and frequency of visits) on social media. Their geo-tagged posts are visualised to highlight communities’ overlap, concentration, absence or rotation through time at certain locations.
